A cpllage of Celine Dion's milk manicure

Céline Dion’s Milk Manicure Makes Me Want to Skip Dark Fall Nails

While everyone is busy picking out burgundy and chocolate brown shades for their fall nails, Céline Dion is making a pretty convincing case for skipping dark fall nails and sticking with lighter shades.

Spotted in Paris with short, glossy nails coated in a soft, milky shade, the singer went for the kind of manicure I always come back to between more colorful sets. It’s simple, polished, and very much in line with the clean girl nails aesthetic we’ve been seeing everywhere.

And if you’re already a fan of bubble bath nails, this one’s definitely worth saving.

What Is a Milk Manicure?

A milk manicure gets its name from the soft, cloudy finish of the polish. Unlike an opaque white manicure, it uses a semi-sheer shade that allows a little of your natural nail to show through.

The result is a creamy wash of color that works beautifully on short  nails, just like Dion’s.

Classic milky white is the obvious choice, but warmer beige and delicate pink variations are equally pretty. You can even add a subtle pearlescent finish if you’re craving a little extra shine.

How to Recreate Céline Dion’s Milk Manicure

The secret to this manicure is getting the base right. Start by shaping your nails, gently smoothing any uneven edges, and applying a clear base coat. Next, reach for a sheer milky polish. Kure Bazaar Beige Milk is a lovely option if you prefer warmer undertones, while Rose Milk adds a delicate pink tint.

Apply two thin coats, working from the center of each nail toward the sides to avoid streaks. Finish with a glossy top coat for that smooth, almost glass-like appearance.

Personally, I love this look on short, softly rounded nails, but it works just as well on almond shapes. And if you’re tempted to experiment, a dusting of pearl chrome powder can take it into chrome nails territory.

Céline may have worn hers on the streets of Paris, but this is one celebrity manicure I’m more than happy to copy at home.
