Emma Chamberlain’s Watercolor Nails Won Met Gala 2026

Emma Chamberlain’s watercolor nails were one of my favorite Met Gala 2026 nail looks and one of the prettiest details from the night’s outfits. Her Mugler gown already looked like wearable art, but the manicure pushed the whole look even further into gallery-girl territory.

Emma Chamberlain’s Watercolor Nails

Created by Tom Bachik, Emma’s manicure matched the painted mood of her dress perfectly. She wore long stiletto nails with a sheer neutral base, which made the colorful design pop even more.

Then came the actual fun: abstract brush strokes in yellow, red, purple, green, and blue. The result looked like tiny watercolor paint strokes dancing across each nail. It was bold, playful, and completely tied to the Fashion Is Art theme.

What I love most is that this watercolor manicure did not feel like a random red carpet add-on. It looked like a tiny painted nail design made to match the full Met Gala beauty look. The colors, the glossy finish, and the stiletto shape all worked together, which is exactly why Emma’s watercolor mani deserve the zoom-in.

How To Get It, According To Tom Bachik

Tom Bachik shared that the look started with meticulous nail prep using his go-to Tweezerman tools. For the color story, he custom mixed Aprés Nail Gel Couleurs to create the watercolor effect.

The shades included:

💛 Forever Marigold

🩵 Glassea Eyed

❤️ Brickhouse

💜 You’re Pretty Grape

💙 Aquarius Rising

To recreate the look, ask for a sheer neutral base, glossy gel finish, stiletto or almond shape, and abstract brush strokes in bright colors.

Emma’s watercolor nail art is basically what happens when a manicure becomes a real work of art. She nailed the theme, so yes, it gets a full 10/10 from me.
