Selena Gomez just gave soft pink nails a wonderful fall update. For the 2026 Emmys, celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik created her “sunset frost” manicure, a glossy pink shade with warm golden shimmer. It’s precisely the kind of fall manicure 2026 I want for that in-between September weather, when summer brights are fading but the darkest shades can wait a little longer.
Sunset Frost Is the Softest Fall Nail Trend Yet

Selena’s sunset frost nails sit somewhere between pearly pink, warm metallics, and the glossy shades we’ve been seeing all summer. Instead of a full chrome finish, the gold shimmer runs through the pink base and catches the light with a softer, frosted glow.
It also makes sense after months of sheer celebrity manicures. Anne Hathaway’s Coconut Water Nails gave us that translucent, barely-there look, while the sorbet nails trend brought brighter, fruity colors into summer. Sunset frost takes that glossy softness and gives it a warmer metallic twist that works beautifully for early fall.

Bachik created the manicure to complement the frosted gold finish of Selena’s Louis Vuitton gown, which explains the warmer shimmer. And while burgundy, chocolate brown, and navy are already taking over fall nail colors, I like having one option that still looks light, glossy, and a little sun-kissed.
How to Recreate It

Tom Bachik shared the exact products behind Selena Gomez’s Emmy manicure, and thankfully, there’s no complicated chrome technique involved.
He prepped Selena’s nails with his Tweezerman manicure kit, then applied two coats of Essie Frost Yourself. He finished the manicure with Essie top coat for extra shine and used Essie On-A-Roll Apricot cuticle oil to give the nails and surrounding skin that polished red-carpet glow.

With celebrity nails still leaning sheer and glossy, sunset frost nails are a pretty way to bring warmer metallics into the mix for fall 2026 without giving up soft color completely.
